Chakri Day (Chakri Memorial Day) falls on April 6 of every year as a result of on April 6, 1782, King Rama I Or Ramathibodi I enthroned as the King of the Chakri dynasty. Therefore, on April 6 of every year, it is the anniversary of the founding of the Chakri dynasty.

               In addition to being the founding day of the Chakri dynasty, April 6, 1782 was also the day King Rama I established Bangkok as the capital of Thailand. Therefore, it is the anniversary of Bangkok. Which at present (B.E. 2566) Bangkok is 241 years old

With such grace, in the year 1873, His Majesty King Chulalongkorn ordered to cast statues of the 4 Kings, namely Rama I to Rama IV, to be enshrined for the next King and members of the royal family including government officials and citizens pay homage to remember His Majesty's benevolence as a tradition once a year by having been graciously pleased to bring to be enshrined on the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall and has been relocated several times whether it is Sutthaisawan Prasat Throne Hall or the Siwalai Maha Prasat Throne Hall

               Later, in the reign of King Rama VI, he ordered the 4 statues of all of them to be moved to Prasat Phra Thep Bidon. at the Temple of the Emerald Buddha along with the statues of King Rama V. However, the repair, construction and enshrining of the statues of the 5 Kings was completed in April 1918. Therefore, a royal decree was announced to set up a royal ceremony to pay homage to the statue on April 6 in that year and graciously called it "Chakri Day"

               On Chakri Day, His Majesty the King Including members of the royal family will come to perform merit-making for the ancestors of the Great King at the Ubosot of Wat Phra Kaeo and lay a wreath at the royal memorial of His Majesty the King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok. at the foot of the Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge

               While government agencies, the private sector and the public sector There will be activities to commemorate the benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. and the Great Chakri Royal Family, such as organizing a ceremony to pay homage to the King, organizing exhibitions, and celebrating various activities
