First Step Toward Future Doctors! Grade 10 EP Science–Mathematics Students Conduct Physics Laboratory Work, Demonstrating Skills in Using Vernier Calipers and Micrometers to Practice Micron-Level Precision
A strong foundation for precision from the very beginning! Grade 10 students in the English Program (EP), Science–Mathematics track (GAT/PAT medical preparatory class), took on the role of young scientists by engaging in physics laboratory activities. They practiced using high-precision measuring instruments, including Vernier Calipers and Micrometers, to prepare for future studies in health science fields.
This experiment focused on providing students with hands-on experience beyond theoretical memorization. Students practiced using and reading measurements from high-precision instruments. Both Vernier Calipers and Micrometers are important tools in scientific work that requires extremely precise measurement of objects.
Although the students’ ultimate goal is to pursue higher education in Medicine, Dentistry, or Pharmacy through the GAT/PAT system, these physics and measurement skills serve as a key foundation in developing logical thinking, accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills—essential qualities for medical professionals.
Students showed great interest in measuring the width, length, and thickness of experimental objects, while recording and analyzing the results in English according to EP program standards.
